We bought these for our boys ages 6-9 and they all really like them. The pieces snap together easily. The instructions are (mostly)clear and direct. Good quality. The boys needed some help at the more complex assembly points on the T-Rex, but they could otherwise put it together themselves. They keep talking about taking it apart to make their own new design, but that hasn’t happened yet. It seems like it would be easy to create something new with how versatile the pieces are. Think K’nex only bigger and with ball and socket joints instead of fixed connectors.
I bought this for my 13 year old son for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He has been working at it in bits and pieces, and has not had any problems getting the pieces to fit correctly or understand the directions. He works on it for about a half hour or so before he goes to bed, for about 3 nights and has the head and all of the body complete. It is great to keep his hands busy while he is relaxing for bedtime. He has never had a set like this before, but has done K’nex and legos. If I find another set made by Struxx, I will will def buy another.
For all adults and engineers that responded….sometimes you need to think like a child and not an adult. As adults we tend to over think things…..this is part imaginaton, part directions.
