This is a very nice little puzzle. Great design, colors, and texture. I like that the pieces don’t have knobs. My 9-month old doesn’t take a lot of interest in it yet- but I’m sure he will as he gets older (beware that the puzzle is not intended for children under 3 due to possible choking hazards.)

We LOVE these puzzles. We got this one and the zoo one, and my 18 month old loves them. I also like that they don’t have knobs. The chunky pieces are easy for her to place, and pictures under the pieces help her a lot. VERY well designed and VERY sturdy. Not so crazy for the “touch and feel” part; I found that didn’t matter too much for the additional price, and made the puzzle more difficult to clean. Also it seems to me there are fewer pieces on the touch and feel ones than the regular chunky ones. But we LOVE the puzzle design! I will definately buy more of the Melissa and Doug chunky wooden puzzles, but most likely not the touch-and-feel ones. Melissa and Doug hit another one out of the park on these!

This toy is nice, but the paper coating that has the pictures on it comes off very easily if it gets wet or scratched. Also, the fabrics are not much like a real animal would be, and they are petroleum-based. I called Melissa and Doug and suggested that they make the fabrics out of organic cotton, wool, etc.
