  • Two modes offer age-appropriate play
  • Plays world music
  • Introduces Baby to 5 languages
  • Great interactive fun

As Baby lays under this LeapStart by LeapFrog, his batting, pulling and grabbing is rewarded with flashing lights, world melodies, animal sounds, classical music and more. As Baby grows, this Gym transforms into a hands-on center offering fun songs, games, counting lessons, introductions to 5 different languages, and more. Includes a Parent’s Guide for suggestions on getting the most from this fun, educational toy. Imported. This interactive toy will grow along with your infant. There are two modes: one for infants and “lie-down” play and the other for older babies and “sitting-up” play. Lie-down play consists of a musical mode and a mode. In mode your baby can listen to the “Hello World Song” sung in five languages while watching the bright primary colors of the motorized mobile whirling away. In music mode your baby will hear over 10 minutes of music from around the world. For sitting-up play, detach the mobile and your child will be ready for some of the following hands-on activities: spin the world ball to hear “hello” in five languages, play peek-a-boo with the mirror, spin the animal roller to hear animal names, colors, and counting. These same buttons will play songs in the music mode, the most impressive of which was the world vocal chorus we heard when we opened the mirror. Thoughtful and engaging, this toy should hold your child’s interest for a long time. Requires four “AA” batteries (not included).

We thought this gym would be so much fun for our 5 month old grandaughter, but she is bored with the lie down mobile. The music and words are nice, but there is really nothing you can do with the mobile. So we switched to sit up mode,as she sits pretty well for awhile. What a disappointment!HER ARMS ARE TOO SHORT TO REACH THE BEAUTIFUL SPINNING GLOBE,or the other fun sounding, colorful activities. She is a big baby, but she would have to be 6 inches taller or standing to even reach the gym. What were they thinking?Better for an older baby,7 or 8 months old at least!

I think this is really neat, and it has a catchy song, but I can’t tell you how fast is goes through batteries. I finally got fed up with putting new batteries in it so often (and my kids used it, but they didn’t use it THAT much!), that by the time they were old enough to use it sitting up, I got sick of it and put it away.

All in all I really like this toy… However, I feel that it is for older babies (i.e. 7-8 months).
The whole look of the toy is great… the spinning globe is wonderful. I haven’t used it in infant mode but mostly because my son hates being on his back. I have it in sit-up mode but he’s too young to sit on his own so the only way he really gets to play with the toy is by my bracing him while he stands (which isn’t as bad as it sounds).
I have to say I really love the fact that approaches different languages in a fun, interesting way both through `abc’s’ and music.
It plays great music and generally I love Leapfrog toys and I appreciate this one I just can’t wait to see how he responds to the toy when he’s a little older.
