While it is a cool product and probably loads of fun, it takes a bit of effort to get it going. You are required to load the software on your computer to use it. The “Play Online” experience is their software connected online, not via a browser or their website. They also state flat out on their website there is no Mac or Linux support. There is no mention of any plans to make a Mac or Linux download available. Seems a little odd to me that a company would ignore the Mac and Linux market like this. Not sure if it is a lack or creativity or skill on their part or not, but it is definitly short-sighted of them. For now, it is Windows XP or Windows Vista only.
Ordered the Nanoscope for my kids that were already playing Nanovor online. They are now playing offline against some neighborhood kids. Watching them huddle over the devices while the battles are going on was fun. It was easy to connect to the computer – easier than my ipod 
graphics are great. Training games keep them busy when they are alone. Battery life is solid. Biggest issue is that i need another one.
