Fun toy but hard to control; two tops a must!

My 9 year old son enjoyed this as well as his friends.

These are basically spinning tops that you control by a magnetic piece of plastic you place on your forefinger.

The tops work great and are really interesting looking. (They almost remind me of a Bakugan toy.) I love the launcher that comes with them. It works great and gets the tops spinning perfectly.

My only complaint is that the magnetic finger pieces don't seem to work all that well. You are supposed to use them to control the top, but I had a difficult time moving mine around. My son fared only slightly better.

Still, he loved the toy because he and his friends could "battle," meaning, crash their tops into one another until one stopped spinning. In fact, I don't recommend this toy unless you buy two of them. Most of the fun is being able to battle your friends.

FUN. My son plays this with 2 other friends and they enjoy it everyday. Works best with arena. The hottest toy for boys ages 10 to 12 right now - 2010.
Fun at first but no staying power

Kids absolutely loved this at first and played with it constantly the first day (they had this along with the "tournament" package that has two other tops and launchers. After that they lost interest. Part of the problem is that there is one particular top that has a ball on the bottom and it is MUCH MUCH better than this or the other tournament packaged top. Because of this, there is constant disagreement on who gets which top since everyone wants the one with the ball on the bottom.

I wouldn't recommend this item to anyone as it just doesn't keep the interest of the kids.
