Fisher-Price and Amazon.com have teamed up to offer this item in Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging, a recyclable, easy-to-open alternative to traditional packaging. A Frustration-Free Package comes without excess packaging materials such as hard plastic "clamshell" casings, plastic bindings, and wire ties. It’s designed to be opened without the use of a box cutter or knife and will protect your product just as well as traditional packaging during shipping. The new packaging eliminates 5 pieces of packaging, including 792 square inches of paper, 29 square inches of PVC plastic, and 30 inches of twist ties. This item ships in its own box, without the need for an additional shipping box. Adventures on the high seas abound with the Fisher Price Imaginext Adventures Pirate Ship. Designed for children ages three and older, the pirate ship comes complete with its own pirates, treasure, and more -- ready to sail where your child's imagination takes it! Plenty of Imaginative Action The pirates have plenty to do, thanks to special "action points" all over the ship. Your child can simply place a pirate on one of the ship's five special areas, turn the figure, and watch the action! The pirates can lower the ship's sails, drop the anchor, and fire the three hidden cannons. Two pirates can even fight a duel, and the captain can extend the plank for some unlucky soul to walk. Built Tough for Adventurous Journeys Like all Fisher Price toys, the Adventures Pirate Ship is built tough, with larger pieces that are easier and safer for little hands to manipulate. It includes three pirates with interchangeable hats and swords, a treasure map, treasure chest filled with treasure, and a cannon that really works. Additional accessories are sold separately. Your child will have hours of fun entering an imaginary world of adventure. However, pirates should use this ship on an imaginary sea only -- it's not built for use in real water. The pirate ship measures about 19 by 7.5 by 18.5 inches. It does not require any batteries. What's in the Box Pirate ship, 2 pirates with interchangeable hats and swords, and treasure chest with treasure.

| We bought this pirate ship in October 2007, and haven't had any of the problems with it coming apart that some earlier reviewers mentioned. (Perhaps the 2007 version is improved?) We're actually very happy with this toy--it is very well designed, with just the right balance between functionality and durability. There are lots of things to do (raise/lower the sails, the anchor, fire the canons three different ways, etc.), and everything works well and holds up to the normal amount of abuse that a four-year-old and his 2-year-old brother can dish out. One of our kids' favorite toys, and one of ours as well. |
My son loves this ship!

My 4 year old got this for his birthday. He hasn't been one to play with toys much. He prefers video games, so to keep those kind of things to a minimum, I am looking for toys to keep his interest. He has played with this nearly every day for a month, and still seems excited about it. He likes the cannons that really shoot, the sails that open and close and the figures. His older siblings enjoy playing with him too.
It encourages open ended play and imagination which is great! |

One toy that might last to see grandchildren

| Very few of my 3 1/2 year old sons toys do I envision worthy and durable enough to get passed down to his children.....but this one has a lot of neat functions as the other reviewers noted, and in my opinion is very solid and durable.....and requires NO BATTERIES!!! The only complaint is that the box did not highlight all the cool things it does, nor did it come with directions, so I am just finding out bit by bit all the little things it can do (i.e. the pirates armor is removable, the cannon balls can launch one at a time or all three together out either side of the ship doors). I wish I had a 3, 4, or 5 year old boy to buy for this holiday....this is the toy I would buy....quality toy, great price, and a lot of fun. |

| I purchased this for my 3yr old after he looked at a few different times in the store. The reason I waited is because often times, he looks at something one time, I purchase it, and then it is thrown to the side, never to be played with again. He loves this ship. We've had it for at least 8 months now and he still plays with it often. This ship is made of durable plastic and I've had no problems with it coming apart, as previous reviewers stated. I love that it has a treasure map, coins, and a little treasure chest. My son likes to "hide" the treasure then we find it by looking at the map. It has so many things to do..the sails can be lowered and raised, the hatch opens, the little canons come out of the sides, and there is even a little plank for the little men to walk. I would definitely recommend this toy=) |
