Our two year old got one of these as an infant and the ‘rain’ noise has been a staple to help him fall asleep since. His “Sheepie” is a close companion even when the noise is not playing. We bought another one just last week to give as a baby gift, and found that they had upgraded a little. Our sleep sheep only plays 23 minutes of noise, but the newer model give you the option of the noise lasting 23 minutes or 45 minutes. That’s a nice addition, as the 23 minutes sometimes is too short. We have machine washed and dried this MANY times and it seems to be standing up to the beatings a washing machine can give a stuffed animal.
The Sleep Sheep has been a godsend in helping my baby (age three months) sleep. After tracking my baby’s internal sleeping schedule, I incorporated the Sheep into our nap and bedtime routine. After only two days, I’m able to lay him in his crib while he’s still awake, and he falls asleep on his own.
This has been the best sleep aid product that I’ve bought. The sounds play on a nice, long cycle. The timing was a problem with other products I tried to use. These items had an auto-shutoff at around five minutes, which was nowhere near enough time for my little one to settle. As well, I like that the Sheep has volume control.
I tested whether or not my baby was soothed by making my own CD of vacuum sounds, running water, etc. BUT the problem with that is EVERYONE has to listen to it 
It’s ok for awhile but hours and hours makes it a little crazy making. SO awesome Grammy bought Sleep Sheep. I eyed Mr. Sheep with some suspicion as we’d also tried a projector sound machine by Homedics and it broke after a night. And putting the sound part into the sheep was frustrating because it has to go in exactly right but when it does it goes in like butter. Anyway, the true test…whether or not it kept my baby sleeping soundly. It does! Woo hoo! I’m happy, she’s happy. Well, actually, I’m ecstatic and she’s asleep.
We got that sheep for our 1 yr old girl. The 4 sound options are all nice (we love the waves the best though) and the volume levels are a great option, too. It attaches really well to a crib and also to a port-a-crib (the velcro is strong enough for a 1 yr old). Just one thing- when I bought it, I envisioned it as a plush toy with sound- this is NOT a TOY for a baby- our little one managed to take the sound mechanism out (and chewed on it…). I don’t list that as a problem, because if you use the sheep properly attached it just won’t happen. I would definitely recommend this product!
